I prefer "nerd" over "geek." Also, I'm no t.v. connoisseur, but I think Fox hates quality television programming (*cough* Futurama *cough*).

Never understood the love of Joss Whedon. His treatment to Titan AE was crap. Buffy and Angel were crap. The Serenity movie was mediocre, at best. Pretty amateurish for a wide release. I never saw the series.

I thought the pilot was outstanding but the series and film were weak. The characters, acting and concept are great but the series is mostly filler episodes and suffers from poor writing. Other than the pilot (which gets an A- in my book), the standout episode is "Ariel" and "Out Of Gas", the rest is fairly take-it-or-leave-it.

Ahh, yes, welcome to the nerdy world of devotion that is populated by Firefly fans. Yes, I am one. I'm glad you liked the pilot episode, and while I liked the film just fine, I do agree the pilot is better. And I think you'll enjoy the episodes more seeing them in order. Character development and all that.

Anyway, I'm going to stop now, because I can get really geeky really fast talking about Firefly...

My friends and I are getting together periodically to watch this series. We're only on the 6th episode or something, but I'm really enjoying it. And I agree: the pilot was really good entertainment.
