Fall TV season premiere dates
Behold! The list of season premiere dates for prime-time network programs (and one FX program, just because I really like it). Shows marked with an asterisk (*) are brand-new. Give ‘em a try! Maybe they’re good! Except “Cavemen,” which obviously isn’t.

I am hearing some great things about the Fall show called The Big Bang Theory on Mondays on CBS starting on September 24 at 8:30PM.
It is very, very funny. Everyone who has seen the pilot loves it. It comes from Two and Half Men’s Chuck Lorre. This could be the next hit
show. See clips from the show

What the HELL would I do without this site? WHAT THE HELL???

Oh, I guess I would use the link you posted at the beginning to the Futon Site.
Anyhow, my bets for good new shows are all on Mondays and Wednesdays on NBC.

Aw, look! It’s a shill for CBS!
Helpful hint: Contrary to what your bosses at CBS may have told you, “from the creator of ‘Two and a Half Men’ is NOT a selling point.
September 6th, 2007 at 10:41 pm
Thanks, Eric–I thought I would have to be the first one to out the CBS shill, but as usual you’re on the ball!

“Craig” “said”:
“Everyone who has seen the pilot loves it.”
Au contraire Craig! I had the displeasure of viewing this pilot a couple of weeks ago at the CBS TV preview studio at the MGM in Vegas. I recommend avoidance.

Why is America’s Funniest Home Videos still on the air? Why is it still accepting videos? And why haven’t they just come to our homes individually and punched us all in the face?
September 7th, 2007 at 11:36 am
My first thought in reading Craig’s comment was “hmm maybe I’ll try to watch the pilot.” Then I read the “comes from Two and a Half Men” line and immediately knew I would be avoiding it.
Are you going to be giving any recommendations on which new shows we should try to catch, Eric? There are just too many and not enough time for me to try to see all of them.

I’m a Nielsen rater and as a “perk” (those are sarcastic quote marks) I usually get to see one or two pilots for the fall and then midseason shows. “The Big Bang Theory”? HORRIBLE! Aside from the fact that all the characters are one-dimensional stereotypes, the dialogue was awful and so blatantly sexual that I was embarrassed to be watching it. (I am not normally a blusher, and not easily offended.) Two thumbs way down! Also two thumbs down, by the way, for “Gossip Girl”. But allow me to recommend Kevin Smith’s “Reaper”. I didn’t get the full pilot, but the clips I got to see were beyond awesome. And in what universe do the Geico cavemen need their own sitcom?
September 8th, 2007 at 8:07 am
And lest anyone be confused, I am not the above CBS shill. I may have my differences with some commenters on the site, but I still have good taste when it comes to TV. Two and a Half Men? Sheesh.
September 8th, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Thanks for clarifying, real Craig. I was worried.
Who in the world thinks “from the creator of Two and a Half Man” is a good thing? That has to be one of the worst shows ever broadcast.
I am interested in Pushing Daisies–there is such a huge marketing campaign for it, I’m wondering if it will be any good.

I want to be a Nielsen rater. I want to influence what Americans get to see. How do I get that gig?
September 11th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
Amazing Race?

There seems to be a big to-do over “Kid Nation,” wherein a bunch of kids are left to build their own town without adult interference. Some parents and groups are calling it irresponsible, but… it seems like the kind of thing I would have loved to do as a kid.
