In northern Idaho, where I grew up, there was a back road called "Estes Road". Inevitably, each year during rush week for the local university, someone would add a "T" to the sign.

In the hospital were I work, there are Domestic Violence fliers in every bathroom. The plastic holder states, "NO ONE DESERVES TO BE BEATEN." Someone has cleverly scratched off the B.

I was serving in Kwangju (S. Korea) in 1995, which included Cho-Seon University. They had "Cho-Seon University Museum of Art" in English on a sign above the entrance to their art museum. The first "C" had fallen off, as did the "O" from "of." Obviously, it was mandatory for every American missionary who served anywhere near Kwangju to take a picture under this sign.

When I was a kid in the 80's, the 'S' at a local Shell station burned out, and it seemed they took forever to fix it.

At the Borders store here in Annapolis, there is a sign in the bathroom that reads "Please Wash Hands." Someone took a black marker and edited the sign to read "Please Vash Hans," which is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Our favorite was when the sign for the Men's Wearhouse in Orem had some burned out lights--the M, E, and N. Doesn't help that it is all capital letters.

We still call it the Swearhouse.

Late 80's, local COUNTY MARKET grocery, huge illuminated sign, and you can probably guess which letter burned out.
