I disagree with Carrie’s assessment of the new Knight Rider pilot. I absolutely loved it. And it’s not a remake, it’s a sequel. I know this may be nit-picky, but in my view a re-make ignores the existence of the original, while a sequel acknowledges it. So the new Knight Rider takes place today, twenty-some years after the original series, and in Hoff’s brief scene, his character was Michael Knight.

Is it cheesy? It’s Knight Rider, for crying out loud! If you liked the old series when it was on TV, there is a good chance you will like this one. Of course K.I.T.T – the Knight Industries Three Thousand – has more advance capabilities than his predecessor, and his new abilities today are just as technologically far-fetched as old K.I.T.T.’s were in his day. But you won’t hear anything as ridiculous as “Captain, the phase magnitude of that signal is within a few megahertz of transporter frequencies.”

The plot showed potential and I am glad to see this going to series.

Holly, they ran the pilot of Knight Rider last year. The Hoff was in a brief and cheesy scene at the end. I think he’s supposed to make appearances now and then, but he’s definitely not a regular. And I’m not gonna lie…the pilot sucked. I haven’t cared to look and see if they’ve revamped it at all. And Val Kilmer is the voice of K.I.T.T. (It was going to be Will Arnett, but he ended up not being able to do it because of contractual obligations to another car company.)

A Knight Rider remake, eh? I won’t watch if there’s no Hasselhoff. Maybe he’ll be the voice of K.I.T.T. Or, maybe they’ll use his leathery hide to upholster the seats.

Guess I am a hillbilly than Whatever, I will take that as a compliment. It’s not like I have a choice in the matter, though. I still am a minor living with my parents. (Who are not hillbillies, just very un-technologically advanced).

But waitasec… Why do the start times matter anyway? Your TiVo (or DVR of choice) will record them whenever they’re on. Do you mean to say there are some people watching the shows when they air, commercials and all? Who does that? Hillbillies?
