So now we have Sarah Palin playing Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin on SNL?

I can’t decide whether that’s awesome or just sad.

Trent, do you think it’s possible that Obama’s coming appearance has nothing to do with a $4600 contribution and everything to do with the fact that SNL is enjoying their best ratings ever? Obama gets one last public hurrah just before election day and NBC makes a killing on the ad rates.

Obama bagged $150M last month. Do you really think he’s beholden for five grand?

That rap skit was probably the best thing that’s every happened to me.

I agree with Ampersand about the doctor’s note though. I mean, she was gettin’ DOWN.

Admit it: Our governor is way cooler than your governor!

And we love her precisely because she DOESN’T talk like a politician. To go through the incredible amount of crap she’s endured these past few months with the kind of class she’s shown really raises my admiration for her personally despite my occasional disagreements with her policies. Also–that was a great rap.

The first skit was kind of meh for me. The parts with the real Sarah Palin instead of the Tina Fey Sarah Palin were a little flat, and the bit with Alec Baldwin was just awkward. I think it’s a little rich for a politician who so far hasn’t held a press conference to be making jokes about how her press conferences “would have gone.”

The second skit, however, was deliciously absurd. Am I the only one who thought that Amy Poehler should have gotten a note from her doctor before doing that rap? Heavens to Betsy, that woman is quite pregnant.

I’m going to miss Tina Fey Palin. It’s a shame McCain’s doing so badly. I’m almost willing to overlook all of Palin’s negatives by thinking of the fun we’d have with Tina Fey for years to come. Maybe there’s a place for Palin in an Obama White House? Press Secretary or something?

As much as I want to hate her for being CRAZY, I couldn’t help but love her a little bit after seeing her on SNL.

The same McCain advisor (Martin Eisenstadt) who leaked the Joe the Plumber story last week appears to have another scoop: Obama is set to appear on SNL the Saturday night before the election, and it could have something to do with Lorne Michaels giving his campaign $4600:
