Eric’s Bad Movies: ‘Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold’ (1987)
Sorry for the tardiness, but I’ve been on the road, heading south to Dixieland. That’s nothing, though, compared to the marvelous journey undertaken by the title character in “Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold”! It is this week’s selection for Eric’s Bad Movies at Film.com.

More proof that 1987 was the greatest year in film EVER!

I swear, when I was younger I saw 90% of your “bad movies”. It’s great to see you make fun of them, but it makes me wonder why I was so dumb as a kid.

@John Doe: Don’t worry. We were all dumb as kids. We had no idea that the crap we were being spoon fed was horrible 95% of the time. That’s why none of the crappy stuff holds up if you go back and watch it as an adult.
These kids today don’t realize how good they have it with their brilliant Pixar films. They need to be subjected to the horrible bitter of the Transformers animated movie from the 80′s in order to appreciate the delightful sweet of Ratatouille.

Don’t worry, Adam, in about 15-20 years an entire generation will look back on things like Hannah Montana and “High School Musical” and say “What the #@%! were we thinking?”
