@williambgoss You know, the minute I saw that movie, I knew we HAD to get it for SXSW.
There’s a big pile of nothing at the multiplexes this weekend. “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” and “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” are the two new wide releases, and they both open without having been screened for critics. That’s not surprising, really — concert films tend to be impervious to reviews (particularly concert films featuring teen-idol bands), and movies based on video games tend to be terrible.
I’m seeing “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” today and reviewing it for Film.com. I guess we figured since I just saw the first “Street Fighter,” I’ll be best prepared to address the important thematic issues it raises vis-a-vis the sequel.
I also have a review of “Madea Goes to Jail” from last week, at Cinematical.
