Astonishingly, “12 Rounds” is not a very good movie at all, despite starring a professional wrestler. http://tinyurl.com/cuv858
@1inAmelia You win the Internet.
I think I have March Madness! That’s the one that makes it burn when you pee, right?
Why would I watch an *extended* version of “Waterworld”? “Hey, remember that movie that wasn’t very good? Want to see MORE of it?”
All aboard the roundup train!
“Monsters vs Aliens” — great fun, cool 3D, fast pace, shallow story. I saw it at a promo screening last Saturday morning when I was in Houston, technically on vacation. And you think I don’t care about your needs!
“The Haunting in Connecticut” — I hoped the fact that it played at South By Southwest might mean it was better than the average haunted-house PG-13-rated fright flick, but no. It’s the same as the average. And I’m tired of lame things saying they’re “based on a true story” in an attempt to seem scarier. I’m not buyin’ it.
“12 Rounds,” in which a professional wrestler named John Cena has to save his girlfriend from bad guys, was not screened for critics and is thus one of Hollywood’s Shameful Secrets®. I’m reviewing it for Film.com sometime this weekend.
In the catching-up department, “The Last House on the Left” is a fairly well-made revenge thriller and is probably better than Wes Craven’s landmark 1972 original. And “Knowing,” despite its many bad reviews, engrossed and entertained me for most of its running time. I still need to catch “Duplicity,” but hopefully that will happen today or tomorrow. If I continue speaking of it in the passive voice, perhaps it will happen without my having to make any effort.

@davechensky I thought Tucker Max looked familiar. Then I remembered I saw his picture in the dictionary, next to “douchebag.”
Just FYI: This week’s movie reviews will be short and poorly written due to time constraints. Usually it’s just out of laziness.
@Laremy “Judge Dredd,” sucka.
Eric’s Bad Movies at Film.com (entry #50!): “Waterworld.” Pour yourself a tall glass of pee and enjoy! http://tinyurl.com/dfjar2
