Strangely, I don't recall ever seeing Lambada on that channel, so I guess HBO was doing their part for the rain forest. In my defense, the movie does feature attractive women in short skirts and thongs, with occasional shots to emphasize that, and that was plenty of reason for a young teenaged male to sit through all the other stupid crap.
