Somehow, here’s a new Snide Remarks
Hey, look! It’s a new “Snide Remarks” column! And it’s about the time when I was really sad! It’s called “The Great Depression.” That’s a play on words, see.
Also of note, as long as we’re noting things: The National, an English-language newspaper in the United Arab Emirates, has quoted me in a story about “Where the Wild Things Are.” The reporter contacted me by e-mail, and I believe this is the first time I have been interviewed by someone writing for a newspaper in Abu Dhabi. I wasn’t entirely convinced, before this, that “Abu Dhabi” was even a real place. But it is! It has a newspaper and everything!
This week’s “Snide Remarks,” including the audio version, is here.
The audio version (i.e., the podcast) is also here.

I always assumed it was the capital of Timbuktu.

Congrats on your UAE debut!

What an amazing coincidence. As I read this, I am less than 200 miles from Abu Dhabi. Imagine the joy when my favorite internet celebrity columnist made reference to the place I am currently living.

Abu Dhabi, wasn’t that where Garfield was always threatening to mail Nermal if he got too obnoxious?

Hey Eric, I was looking for your “what’s the big deal” post, but I can’t find it. Do you have linked on ericsnyder.com?

“snyder” should be “snider” sorry.

And “ericsnyder.com” should be EricDSnider.com! Anyway, you can find the What’s the Big Deal? column every Tuesday at Film.com (under the “Movies” section, specifically).

Now that you’ve hit it big time, I imagine you will start selling out, right?
