Sticky Notes

Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist - 207

Episode #13

"Sticky Notes"

Season 2: 4/7/96

Katz suspects Laura of stealing office supplies but is too weaselly to confront her on it. Stan, at the bar, says it's not even stealing. Katz points out only he and Laura have keys to the office, along with the cleaning service -- "Finders Keepers." Meanwhile, Ben begins pursuing -- some would say stalking -- the new girl in the building. Katz distracts him from talking to her as she leaves the building, and they weigh the positives of not actually talking to her (Katz: "You didn't really clash on any issues"). Later, Ben knocks her down while she's jogging and she says, "Watch where you're going. Eventually, she lets him down gently by saying, "Hey, fat, fatty." Ben gives up.

  • Garry Shandling: Tells Laura what a racket psychiatry is, that Katz should change his name to "Dr. Cash" ("That's funny," says Laura, and she sounds like she means it); Garry hates when handicapped people park in regular spots; his pants are too tight, and then he asks Katz how his butt looks; going for a colon exam ("Have it done professionaly," offers Katz); says he's good in bed -- "I never fall out"; likes dating older women because he learns from them; doesn't want to cheat on his dog by playing with other dogs; gets upset when Katz doesn't remember that his father died five years ago.
  • Judy Tenuta: Katz says her anger is midirected; she asks, "Really? Where should it go?"; had to babysit her brothers, all of whom were named Bosco, when she was a kid; one of them burned the house down because it was "laughing at him"; she assured him, "It was laughing WITH you"; got in trouble in Catholic school because she gave a nun a shaving mug for Fathers Day; geography is "just like history, but without people or dates"; compares playing the accordion to dealing with friends and enemies ("Friends are just people who don't have the guts to kill you"); plays the accordion for a long time.
