Studio Guy

Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist - 309

Episode #27

"Studio Guy"

Season 3: 1/19/97

Katz wants to take up recording again, because he's writing a new song. (Complete lyrics: "I'm left out, but I'm not new/This doesn't seem too fair/I feel left out, didn't use to/I've gotta think this through.") Ben is opposed to the idea, until Katz tells him he can be the "producer." Ben goes to the music store and buys a bunch of crap, while Katz tries out his song on Julie and Stan. (Stan mentions that Paul McCartney called Brian Wilson a musical genius, and John Denver said Smokey Robinson was the greatest living American poet. Stan's point? "That I know stuff.")

  • Joan Rivers: Daughter's feet were hanging out the last three months of pregnancy; her own parents didn't pick her up from the hospital until she was 9; cremated her mother-in-law before she was dead; has plastic surgery all the time, sometimes without anesthesia.
  • Bobcat Goldthwaite: Pees in the office because he thinks the bathroom requires a key; kids are in private school, mostly with the children of out-of-work actors; was on an Australian game show and kept hitting his competitor's buzzer.
  • Fred Stoller: Took the bus and talked to the driver ("I took a whole lot of people down with me"); shows up a day early for his appointment; took a cross-country trip with his parents when he was a kid; mom demanded to know where he got that Hershey bar.
