Media Inventory: What I Watched in 2010

2010

This account of my media intake is slightly streamlined compared to previous years. I’ve always done the “Media Inventory” mostly for my own amusement; this reflects how much amusement I found in it this time.

MOVIES

I watched 349 movies in 2010 — the fewest since I started keeping track in 2004. I note, however, that 349 is still a lot.

Of the films released in 2010 (or that played at 2010 festivals), I saw 224 and reviewed 153 of them. The other 125 movies I watched were pre-2010 releases, some of which I saw for the first time and many of which were new to me.

TV

I really need to watch more TV. I watched 283 hours of television in 2010, almost all of it via DVR, which means I skipped the commercials, which means I watched those 283 hours in about 212 hours, which means I was only in front of the TV for about 35 minutes a day. That’s ridiculous.

For what it’s worth, here are the shows I watched regularly this year. I don’t watch any shows that I don’t like, so that means I like all of these.

30 Rock
Breaking Bad
Childrens Hospital
Community
Friday Night Lights
Fringe
Futurama
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Lost
Louie
Mad Men
Modern Family
The Office
Parks and Recreation
Raising Hope
Saturday Night Live
The Simpsons
South Park
Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job
The Walking Dead
