Friday’s stuff is gonna be late

This is Eric’s Fat Brother, Jeff. I just got a phone call from Eric informing me that a storm has knocked out the power in his entire neighborhood, which means he has no computerly way to post his normal movie reviews and “In the Dark” and whatever the crap else he normally posts on Fridays. Last he heard, the power company had no idea when the power would be back on; if you’re lucky, it will be back on and the stuff will be posted by the time you read this, and you will wonder what all the fuss was about. If you’re less lucky, it could be a day or two. If you’re more lucky … well, lots of things could happen for you if your luck increased, but let’s not waste time filling you with false hope while Eric’s milk is spoiling in his useless refrigerator.

Poor Eric…stuck in his home without power…can’t imagine that man, don’t even want to think about it. Not only that but I can’t get any funny articles or funny movie reviews…Eric’s power goes out…everyone suffers….

As a Central Florida Resident, I can sympathize with the no power. Of course for us, it was in 90 degree weather, so I can’t really relate. First your car and now no power. This is not turning out to the best holiday season for you, is it? I hope it improves quickly. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.

First no Snide Remarks, now this?

I paid virtually nothing to read Eric’s words; bring them to me now.

Eric, when your power comes back, I think you need to give Jeff a regular feature here on the blog. He’s sort of like an intelligent Jim Anchower. This was really funny to read.

And I want to see Eragon today, but how do I know if it’s going to be any good?

Please for the love of everything, find a way Eric, find a way.

The least Eric could do would be rig up some kind of bicycle-powered generator to power his computer so everyone could get their movie reviews. Bonus: then he’d have a bicycle to ride until he gets a car.

Every pre-release review of Eragon that I’ve seen has been negative. Bad dialogue, bad acting, bad pacing, and - get this - not even all that faithful to the novel. Anyone who read the novel knows how the story is a beat-for-beat rip-off of Star Wars, but the reviewers point out how seeing it in movie format makes the plagarism even clearer.

Oddly enough, the most positive thing about the movie cited by the reviewers is Jeremy Irons, who I guess did this movie trying to redeem himself for “Dungeons and Dragons.”
