Eric’s Bad Movies: ‘Tarzan, the Ape Man’

The sixth edition of the new “Eric’s Bad Movies” feature is a doozy. My Film.com overlord said it’s the best one yet! The movie in question is 1981’s “Tarzan, the Ape Man,” a misbegotten Bo Derek vanity project directed by her too-old-for-her husband, John Derek. I hope you enjoy my frank assessment of it.

    And what a creepy film.

Is this really the sixth installment? My, how time flies when you’re having fun!

Hilarious review, and you’re right about the movie. Ew. Ew, ew, ew.

For a future bad movie review, might I suggest revisiting “Batman and Robin”? I know you already reviewed it way back when, but there’s just so much potential for bad-movie-reviewness in there. Your first review didn’t even scrape the surface.

That movie sounds like it beats Batman and Robin as the worst THING ever. The review was hilarious though.

Here’s proof that I read your blog! And that review was truly awesome.

I LOVE bad movies! At least I love for you to see them and review them…what a great feature!

Isn’t it amazing how times have changed. This movie did good at the box office (cost 6.5 million and made 36.5 million dollars). In my opinion, most of this money is because of the naked Bo Derek. In today’s age of free nudity everywhere, this wouldn’t be exciting at all today.
