I LOVE that I get everything an hour earlier in AZ. I get to watch all my shows and go to bed by 10:00! I think it was one of my favorite things about moving here. Hooray for Pushing Daisies coming back!
August 28th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Pushing Daises! I’m officially psyched!
August 28th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
I love Pushing Daisies, too. That is the only show I can’t wait to see again.
August 28th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Am I the only one that found the non-stop whimsy of that show too cloying to be endured beyond the first few episodes last year? Not to mention the heroine’s all-around annoying-ness?
August 28th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
I enjoyed the whimsy, but agree with you about the heroine. If only he would trip on top of her and happen to touch her.
August 28th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Eric, please give out reviews for as many brand new series as you can. We trust your opinion- Thanks!
August 28th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
Yay Dexter, Heroes and Chuck! The Sarah Connor Chronicles has some potential but really needs help in the suspense department. But whatever, I’ll still watch it.
August 28th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Thank goodness for TiVo! Looks like Fall is going to be Full. =) I count 16 shows I’ll be recording (so far)
August 28th, 2008 at 5:32 pm
THE UNIT!!!!
August 28th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
That’s what she said!

Wow! I couldn’t be more excited that NBC is starting 30 Rock a month later than its other comedies! That will help get people to watch, because Lord knows that the only thing better than a normal, half-hour long The Office is a month of “1-hour” episodes that are really just two episodes slapped lazily together. It’s good to keep people on their toes, something NBC has a lot of practice doing with 30 Rock already by continuously switching its timeslot. That’s probably the best way to reward the Emmy winner for best comedy. By not showing it.
I swear, if this show eventually gets canceled because NBC sucks at marketing it, then I am going to go berserk.
August 28th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
I can’t wait for The Office!
August 28th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
I can’t wait for Private Practice – I’ve been missing it so I’ve been watching online: http://abc.go.com/player/?channel=125571
I love Addison!!!

Hey Savvy Veteran–
I hear ya, bro. I remember something similar happening to an old Emmy-award winning show…what was the name of it…hmmmmm…oh, yeah, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT! Still makes me sick thinking about it.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Phil Cardenas–
Me too. A lot of people I talk to feel like the show was really just too smart to find a wide audience (not to mention all of the hilarious running jokes and crazy storylines that eventually made the show just about impossible to watch unless you were very familiar with past episodes), but if you’ve seen the bloopers on the Season 2 DVD set you’ll know how David Cross (half in costume as Ms. Featherbottom) felt about Fox’s marketing team. The Office on NBC has proven that American viewers aren’t completely stupid when it comes to comedy (as it is starting to get fairly respectable numbers), so why not shows like Arrested Development and 30 Rock?
August 28th, 2008 at 10:18 pm
Yay, Pushing Daisies! Cut me a whimsy steak and cover it in whimsy sauce!
August 28th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
I think Arrested Development would have done good enough to stay on the air if it was on NBC and was paired with a smart comedy like “The Office”. Don’t forget, The Office isn’t exactly getting a ton of people to watch- but it does great in the demo. The problem with AD is that it folllowed cartoons on Sunday night and it didn’t really have the proper audience lead in.

I noticed a few discrepancies in the times of certain premieres between what Eric has provided and what TV Guide has listed. Having never done a study to see who is more reliable (Eric or TV Guide), I will simply list the discrepancies and let the rest of you do the research to see who is more trustworthy:
House premieres at 9pm (TV Guide) or 8pm (Eric) on Sept 16
Extremem Makeover: Home Edition premieres at 7pm (TV Guide) or 8pm (Eric) on Sept 28
30 Rock premieres at 9:30pm (TV Guide) or 8:30pm (Eric) on Oct 30
There might be other discrepancies, but these are the only ones I noticed.

I don’t mind taking the blame, but remember, I stole the whole list from E! Online.
But waitasec… Why do the start times matter anyway? Your TiVo (or DVR of choice) will record them whenever they’re on. Do you mean to say there are some people watching the shows when they air, commercials and all? Who does that? Hillbillies?
August 29th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
Where is Reaper?
August 29th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
WTF, 30 Rock?! W?! T?! F?!
August 29th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Guess I am a hillbilly than
Whatever, I will take that as a compliment. It’s not like I have a choice in the matter, though. I still am a minor living with my parents. (Who are not hillbillies, just very un-technologically advanced).

A Knight Rider remake, eh? I won’t watch if there’s no Hasselhoff. Maybe he’ll be the voice of K.I.T.T. Or, maybe they’ll use his leathery hide to upholster the seats.
August 30th, 2008 at 8:23 am
This is all just white noise. Where’s the only premiere date that matters? When do I get to see the next new episode of LOST?
September 1st, 2008 at 5:55 am
Hugo, I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.
September 2nd, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Holly, they ran the pilot of Knight Rider last year. The Hoff was in a brief and cheesy scene at the end. I think he’s supposed to make appearances now and then, but he’s definitely not a regular. And I’m not gonna lie…the pilot sucked. I haven’t cared to look and see if they’ve revamped it at all. And Val Kilmer is the voice of K.I.T.T. (It was going to be Will Arnett, but he ended up not being able to do it because of contractual obligations to another car company.)
September 8th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
I disagree with Carrie’s assessment of the new Knight Rider pilot. I absolutely loved it. And it’s not a remake, it’s a sequel. I know this may be nit-picky, but in my view a re-make ignores the existence of the original, while a sequel acknowledges it. So the new Knight Rider takes place today, twenty-some years after the original series, and in Hoff’s brief scene, his character was Michael Knight.
Is it cheesy? It’s Knight Rider, for crying out loud! If you liked the old series when it was on TV, there is a good chance you will like this one. Of course K.I.T.T – the Knight Industries Three Thousand – has more advance capabilities than his predecessor, and his new abilities today are just as technologically far-fetched as old K.I.T.T.’s were in his day. But you won’t hear anything as ridiculous as “Captain, the phase magnitude of that signal is within a few megahertz of transporter frequencies.”
The plot showed potential and I am glad to see this going to series.
