While were in Gallimaufry mode, can I make the request that you review Adam Carolla’s movie “The Hammer”? I’ve heard good things about it, and it’s 71% on RT, but I only trust EDS reviews, so I wanted to get your take.

  2. The Ides of Mark Says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t Friday the 13th Part III in 3-D? And wasn’t this fact also worked into the title, as was the fashion at the time (cf. “Jaws 3-D”)? My memory of the 80s is starting to get a bit fuzzy, but I’m pretty sure there was a scene where Jason squeezes a guy’s head and his eye pops out at the audience…

So, call me a prude, but I found the comments to your Cinematical article “Forgetting Showing It — Now You Can’t Even Say the Word ‘Porno’” to be pretty offensive.

Very funny article, but if Cinematical isn’t going to monitor their comments, I don’t think I can continue reading articles on their website. If I want that kind of information I’ll look it up, I don’t want it shoved in my brain with no warning.

Ironically, I’ve just drawn attention to the comments, giving them free advertisements.

    But seriously, don’t read them.

  4. Eric D. Snider Says:

Did you send an e-mail to the Cinematical editors telling them this? Believe me, telling me won’t do any good.

  5. Billy Bob Thorton Says:

    Eric,
I wasn’t really expecting you to do anything about it, I was just more venting a frustration. I was reading the article at work and if somebody saw those comments on my computer it could jeopardize my job. I mentioned it here because I felt your audience would be more sympathetic than the trolls commenting at Cinematical. Especially as you do monitor comments on your site and make sure they don’t get out of hand.

But you are right, I’ve since submitted my complaint to Cinematical.

    Cinematics response:

    Hey,

Sorry about that. We try to police as much as we can, but sometimes we miss comments. I’ve deleted that one and agree it doesn’t belong on the site. If you ever come across something else disgusting and absurd, feel free to email us. I hope you won’t stop visiting the site.

    Thanks,

    Erik
