Here is “Hudson Hawk,” this week’s edition of Eric’s Bad Movies at Film.com. Technical difficulties delayed it, but they couldn’t keep it down forever! (Full disclosure: One of the technical difficulties was that I didn’t finish writing it until this morning.)
I told someone I was going to do this film, and he said, “That’s too easy!” Yes, so you’d think. But just watching the movie proved painful, and writing about it took more effort than it usually does. Some bad films lend themselves readily to mockery and dissection; others, like “Hudson Hawk,” are awful in less easily analyzed ways. Perhaps someday I shall write a book on the different kinds of bad movies, and how some are better suited to Eric’s Bad Movies than others.
