Eric’s Bad Movies: ‘Meteor’ (1979)

The 1970s were a fertile time for disaster movies. At the tail end of the decade, when the genre’s popularity was waning and most of the good disasters had been taken, some people made “Meteor,” in which a giant asteroid threatens to hit our fair planet and kill us all. “Meteor” is slow and dull, nearly opposite in tone from the frenetic “Armageddon,” which ripped it off 19 years later. And “Meteor” is this week’s subject of Eric’s Bad Movies at Film.com.
