Eric’s Bad Movies: ‘Mortal Kombat: Annihilation’ (1997)

I’d put this one on the short list of Worst Movies Ever Made, Or at Least Among Those That I Have Personally Seen. “Mortal Kombat” is bad enough (for some reason I wrote a review of it a few years ago), but its sequel, “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation,” is breathtakingly incoherent and insane. It is the subject of this week’s edition of Eric’s Bad Movies at Film.com.

My clues last week were such that several films would have qualified. Do you who like guessing prefer that kind of clue — where you really are just guessing — or do you prefer clues that ultimately lead to only one possible correct answer? I am here to serve you, at least until such time as I get tired of it.

In the meantime, next week’s movie is from the 1980s, it is a blatant rip-off of an extremely popular movie that preceded it by several years, and it is derided for its overusage of a certain Hollywood tactic that is acceptable in small doses but not at the levels employed here.
