Friday movie roundup – May 1

That “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” movie? Not so great. On the other hand, if you have longed to see Hugh Jackman dashing naked through the countryside — and you know who you are — then you will not be disappointed in that respect.

I actually saw “Wolverine” at a press screening in New York, since that’s where I was this week. Gene Shalit was there! Also: Gene Shalit is still alive!

I was not able to attend an out-of-town screening of “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past,” however, so you’ll have to wait to find out how much I hated this romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey as a douchebag.

“Battle for Terra” is animated and not very good.

“Obsessed,” currently the No. 1 film in the country (enjoy that flash while it’s still in the pan, Screen Gems!), isn’t approximately as stupid and cheesy as it looks. I caught it yesterday afternoon in Manhattan. People who don’t live there probably don’t realize that movie tickets can cost $12.50, even during the day. Given this, why would anyone see “Obsessed”? I can see wasting $6 or $7, but $12.50? Yeesh.

Maybe something interesting will happen if you follow me on Twitter!

I am really hoping for your Ghost of Girlfriends Past review. I am guessing it will be funnier than the movie itself.

In my humble opinion, Hugh Jackman dashing naked through the countryside was the best part of the entire film!
