The train in “Unstoppable” is, in fact, stoppable, and “127 Hours” is barely an hour and a half long. Otherwise, those movies are pretty good. Especially “127 Hours,” which is still in limited release but will soon be more widely available.

“Morning Glory” (review at is a lot less good, failing to take advantage of its many comic possibilities. Woody Allen’s latest, “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” is likewise subpar.

Also in limited release: “Tamara Drewe” (review at, a fun ‘n’ snappy British comedy of manners.

“Skyline” opened wide today as one of Hollywood’s Shameful Secrets®. Review to come.

“What’s the Big Deal?” and “Eric’s Bad Movies” took the week off. But I did transcribe the pitch meeting for the Justin Bieber 3D movie, so there’s that.
