Friday movie roundup – Nov. 19

In brief: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” (review at Cinematical) is very good; “The Next Three Days” is pretty good; “Skyline” (from last week) is dumb.

Over at, I wrote a report from the year 2020, and also offered relationship advice from Severus Snape. “Eric’s Bad Movies” deals with “Flowers in the Attic,” while “What’s the Big Deal?” addresses “Seven Samurai.”

Some “In the Dark” subscribers may have noticed that it’s been showing up late, or not at all, in recent weeks. This is due to something technical that I only sort of understand. The computer monkeys are working on it.

Finally, let me remind you that if you do any shopping at during the Unspecified Winter Holiday season, it would benefit me tremendously if you’d shop via my Amazon links. That’s how we buy monkey chow for those computer monkeys.
