I don’t know why I’m on a German kick lately, but here are two amusing YouTube videos that made me sit up and say “Ach!”
First, Adolf Hitler sings.
[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCJTR3XeiAc]Second, “ALF” is dubbed into German.
[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQXrEf4sqvg]“Willie, mein freund!”
My complements go to whoever decided to make that Hitler video.
That was awesome. And what is wit Alf’s voice? Wasn’t half the humor in his wacky voice (I wouldn’t know I didn’t find Alf funny)?
This reminds me of this really, really funny animated gif that I found once. It was originally some real footage of some Nazi guy (can’t remember if it was Hitler or not) walking up to someone to shake hands with them (they were on some sort of terrace and there was a tea table set for them). But anyway, someone had taken the nazi’s first few steps and just repeated them back and forth as a gif, so it looked like he was dancing. Then they had this silly music playing in the back.
I cannot find it though, and that makes me sad. 🙁 Anyone have any idea what I’m talking about?

Back in 1940, when France surrendered to Germany, a brief newsreel clip was treated this way to make it look like Hitler was dancing a jig in celebration. Apparently some people believed it.
Have you seen “Hiel honey I’m Home”? one of the worst TV shows of all time. it’s hitlers life turned into a sitcom.
“Heil Honey I’m Home!” is indeed a curiosity, though it’s important to note that it was meant as a parody of cheesy sitcoms. I think it’s pretty funny.
When I lived in Germany in 98 and 99, I was walking down a suburban street in Berlin and there was a big painting of Alf on a someone’s garage. Es war einfach fantastisch.
